Kids at the Shoppe

We absolutely love children! We are a family business that is proud to support families! Most of us have kids of our own. When Anna and Allen started The Fudge Shoppe they lived upstairs with their family. What a sweet place (literally) to grow up. Their kids (Leslie, Susan, & Steve) continued to grow in the Shoppe and all work full time making candy. THEIR kids even work here (Adam & Leanne, and Dana did too). It’s really a beautiful thing to have 4 generations making the same delicious chocolates and candies we’ve all loved for over 50 years!

We love seeing a child’s reaction when they enter the store. Whether it’s the first time or their 100th, their faces light up and their eyes are filled with wonder. From the bright gummi candies to the animal shaped chocolate moulds, the kids feel like they’re in "Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory". Some run towards the shoestring licorice while others stand in awe at the big lollipops on the wall.

It’s hard not to want to touch everything (but we understand that happens). We really do love interacting with the kids that we meet in the store and having conversations with them. Sometimes Rich will even crouch down and talk to them about making sure they just look with their eyes (which is a good reminder for even us adults, too)

We really do hope you feel like family when you’re visiting us. This Thursday, April 26 is Bring Your Kid to Work Day. If you are bringing your child to work with you, stop by and visit us! Have your child tell us what you do and they’ll receive a chocolate lollipop on us!! Here are some pictures of our children visiting us at work! Hope you enjoy!

  1. I love it! Thanks for sharing. My favorite chocolate memory revolves around (naturally) the Fudge Shoppe. I grew up here, so my mom would take us to your store all the time. I remember Mr. Burry dipping chocolate fruit, and being in awe of his mad skills. We would get all our Easter candy and Christmas candy from you. We still do. Plus everything else in between...I think we visit once every 3-4 days. Literally. From birthday parties to anniversaries to your fab truffles, you have us covered, and we are so thankful.

  2. Love reading your blogs from the Fudge Shoppe! My Mom and Dad always took us to your shop to buy all our Christmas and Easter candy and i still stop by whenever i'm in Flemington to buy your absolutely DELICIOUS Almond Butter Crunch!! Your shop is so quaint and everyone is so friendly...Love how you've kept it a family business and it has a warm, inviting feeling when you step into the shop! Great homemade candy, always fresh and delicious and whenever i buy a 10 oz. box of that Almond Crunch, it never seems to make it all the way home (which isn't far since i only live in Manville!!) because i end up eating the entire box before i get home!!! :) Thank you for keeping your shop a family business and the same way it was when i was a kid,...Best homemade chocolate ever! I will stop by soon! Gotta get my Butter Crunch fix!! :)

  3. Loved this! Growing up in Flemington, the Fudge Shoppe is definitely a part of my favorite childhood chocolate memories. Specifically around Christmas time when my parents would fill our stockings with chocolate treats from the Fudge Shoppe! My favorite definitely being the Almond Butter-Crunch treats. Since moving away and starting my life in a new city, now every time I come home I have to stop at the Fudge Shoppe and pick up a box of Almond Butter Crunch so I can take a piece of home back with me.
