Chocolate chip cookies

Today is national chocolate chip cookie day! Everyone loves a chocolate chip cookie so we are going to share one of our favorite cookie recipes with you.

At The Fudge Shoppe, we carry a variety of chocolate chips for all of your baking (and snacking) needs. We have milk, semi sweet, & white chocolate chips. They're great for eating plain too! The milk chips and white chips are regular sized but the semi sweet ones are mini. We love mini chips because they are more evenly dispersed in the cookie dough.

Now let's get baking! This is my favorite cookie recipe mainly because they are soft and chewy and have a great flavor, especially with our chocolate chips inside.

You'll need;

3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 egg + 1 egg yolk

1 Tbsp vanilla extract

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp cornstarch

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

  • Simply combine the butter, brown sugar, & white sugar in a mixer for 2 minutes
  • Add the egg and egg yolk and scrape the bowl down
  • Add the vanilla extract
  • Combine all of the dry ingredients and add them to the mixer on low speed
  • Fold in the chocolate chips
  • Cover the dough and CHILL in the refrigerator (this is a must!) for at least 2 hours and up to 2 days)

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Line sheet pans with parchment paper
  • Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough using a cookie scoop
  • Keep the dough balls about 2" apart from one another
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes. They will look raw when you take them out but they will continue to bake on the tray as they cool. (Don't transfer them to a cooling rack)

We hope you enjoyed national chocolate chip cookie day as much as we did! Yum!
